Folklor Dansensemble Amersfoort

The Folklor Dansemble Amersfoort provides performances in folkloristic dance under the direction of Wijnand Karel; dance leader and choreographer.

The FDA has a versatile and extensive repertoire; for example, we dance choreographies from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Slovakia, Hungary and Serbia, but also from Russia, Turkey, Germany and Norway.

In addition, they have an extensive and modern Dutch repertoire, in which the dances – and original costumes – come from all corners of the Netherlands. With each choreography a story is told about life, love or saying goodbye. In this way they let both their own culture and international cultures live on.
