Tigh na Coille
Irish folk dancing is one of the most iconic expressions of Irish culture, famous for its energetic movements, rhythmic footwork and lively music. These dances are often characterized by fast, rhythmic steps and a strong emphasis on the legs and feet, while the upper body usually remains still and straight. It is an art form that has its roots in Irish folk music and has evolved over the centuries.
“Tigh na Coille” is an Irish term meaning “House of the Forest”. It is a combination of two Irish words: “Tigh” (house) and “Coille” (wood or forest). In many cases, the term is associated with Irish houses or inns that have a close connection with nature or are located in wooded areas. The group consists of 25 energetic, talented young dancers and a large orchestra.
