Ngā Uri o Whiti Te Rā Mai Le Moana Trust

Kia ora, or ‘be healthy’ is a typical greeting in New Zealand. The country where this beautiful group comes from. A country located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. In Maori New Zealand is called ‘Aotearoa’ which means ‘land of the long white cloud’. Explorer Abel Tasman was the first European to see New Zealand and encountered the original inhabitants there at the time.

Mai Le Moana Trust is proudly owned by Pacific and Māori; driven to support positive youth development (rangatahi) through participation in cultural activities. The name describes a concept for developing a more inclusive space for both Māori and Pasifika rangatahi meaning; “The Descendants of the Rising Sun of the Pacific.” The group is very active in its own country and has a large following, but will perform in Europe for the first time!

In addition to the distinctive Haka and breathtaking vocals, the group also proudly showcases the traditions and dance culture of the Cook Islands and Samoa.
